French Jesuit School; King's School, Shernhorne; University of Aberdeen; two doctorates in law.

Work and publications:
Has served as legal adviser to national and international organizations; acted as expert witness for the prosecution in criminal cases; invited professor of law at Geneva, Paris, Nantes universities; honorary professor at Bordeaux.

He is recognised as an international authority in the field of labour law and has published numerous books, monographs, chapters in books, encyclopaedia entries, articles, editorials. His works have been translated into seven languages and published in several countires.

Has received numerous State honours; campaign medals in various theatres of war in the world; Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire; Knight of the Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland; Honorary Consul of the Republic of Poland.
